Preventing Comparison
In today's society, we are riddled with comparisons. We are constantly driven by external perceptions of the world around us. Marketing, impressions, and expectations help inform our decisions and comparisons of ourselves and others. Much like a poison, comparison may seem similar to that of another substance like ambition or inspiration but when unchecked or constant, can be lethal when consumed. So how do we prevent the poison of comparison? Some things to consider next time you find yourself in the middle of comparisons: 1. Appreciation. What do you consider a strength in yourself or other people? What do you consider appealing? Appreciate the strengths and attributes in yourself and others that are appealing at present.
